N.D. (NewsDakota.com) – KEM Electric Cooperative, Inc. has reported a major power outage that is affecting 3/4 of their system in Emmons, McIntosh, Logan and Kidder counties.
As of 7:30 AM this morning, residents have been without power. KEM Electric Cooperative General Manager Chris Baumgartner announced that the crews are working as hard and as safely as they can.
“We did identify the outage. Our systems out of Wishek and Linton both went out and we aren’t sure if they’re related, but they happened at the same time. We are currently working with MDU and have all our crews dispatched. We are concerned for our customers with the cold temperatures and our crews are working diligently and safely to restore power.”
KEM Electric Cooperative is encouraging people affected by the power outage to go to another residence with power, fire up generators and find means to stay warm while workers continue fixing the problem. A estimated time of power back is unknown at this time.
