(NewsDakota.com) The Stutsman County Invitational Boys Basketball Tournament concluded yesterday at the Jamestown Civic Center with four games. The All-Tourney team and other awards were handed out as well. Here are the results:
7th place: Napoleon/Gackle-Streeter 57 Midkota/Kensal 30
Bryce Fettig of NGS had a double double along with six steals to help the Imperials beat the Mustangs in the first game yesterday. Fettig had 13 points and 11 rebounds for Napoleon/GS.
Dakota Hoyt for the Mustangs had 12 points and 12 rebounds. The Mustangs turned it over 23 times and shot only 26% from the field. Midkota/Kensal remains winless at 0-6.
5th place: South Border 51 Medina-Pingree-Buchanon 37
Three players for South Border scored in double figures as the Mustangs beat the Thunder for the consolation championship. Hunter Pinke had 13, Adam Jacobson scored 12 and Matthew Kretschmar had 10 for South Border, they improve to 3-2 overall.
MPB drops to 1-3 overall and were led by Nic Blaskowski with 13.
3rd place: Kidder County 48 Ellendale 46
Despite a 13-5 deficite at the end of the first quarter, Kidder County came back and outscored Ellendale in the second and third quarters to secure a third place finish. Ryan Sand for Kidder County scored 13 points and had 13 rebounds, they improve to 3-1 overall.
Ellendale was led by Freshman Brennen Vance with 16 points off the bench, they drop to 2-2.
Championship: Carrington 67 Edgeley/Kulm/Montpelier 49
Carrington shot 46% from the field and had six 3-pointers to help them win the championship for a second year in a row. All seven players that touched the floor for Carrington scored, Connor Wendel led the way with 16 points off the bench. The Cardinals improve to 4-0 on the year.
EKM Rebels suffer their first loss and drop to 3-1, Connor Entzi had 21.
