CITY, N.D. (NewsDakota.com) Valley City has been working to update a number of city ordinances over the last six years known as re-codification.

Right now the city is trying to tackle the touchy subject of adjusting the liquor license ordinance. City officials met with a number of bar owners to listen to their concerns this week.

NuBar owner Ryan Mathias says he believes the city is working to adopt the best possible ordinance for the city and bar owners.

Another proposed ordinance being addressed is whether or not to allow bars to stay open until 2am. Mathias has mixed feelings about the idea.

Another meeting with bar owners and city officials is set for January 3 to iron out concerns over the re-codification of liquor license ordinances before final readings are approved by the city commission.
