N.D. (NewsDakota.com) – Several drivers were found to be travelling much too fast for the icy conditions of the Red River bridge deck.

According to a report released by Sgt. Tom Herzig of the North Dakota Highway Patrol, most cars regained control after sliding out of control. For December 6th, four crashes were investigated. The Minnesota Highway Patrol also assisted. Two of the occupants were transported by ambulance for treatment of injuries.

The North Dakota Highway Patrol urges drivers to slow down. Factors leading to crashes include following too close, abrupt lane changes and aggressive braking. Other departments that assisted include the Fargo PD, Moorhead PD, Clay County Sheriffs department, and the Fargo Fire Department.
