Meyer, 95, of Oakes, ND, died on Tuesday, November 26, 2013 at the Good Samaritan Society, Oakes, under the care of Hospice of the Red River Valley.

Carl Frederick Meyer, the youngest of thirteen children born to Herman and Carrie (Frohling) Meyer was born on April 14, 1918 at Hecla, South Dakota, where he grew up and attended Liberty Greenfield School. He started farming with his brothers, Herman and Henry, before purchasing a farm east of Ludden in 1948. Carl farmed his entire life until his retirment. In October of 2013, Carl became a resident of the Good Samaritan Society in Oakes. Carl enjoyed hunting and fishing and was an honorary member of the Ludden Sportsman Club.

Carl was preceded in death by his parents, and all his siblings, Claus, Tena, John, Dena, Rose, Etta, Annie, Henry, Harry, Reka, Meda and Herman. He is survived by several nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be from 12:30 to 1:30 p.m. on Wednesday December 4, 2013, with the funeral to follow at 1:30 p.m. at St. John’s Lutheran Church, Hecla, SD. Burial will be at Hecla City Cemetery. An online guestbook may be signed at www.dahlstromfuneralhome.com
