CITY, N.D (NewsDakota.com) With winter sports upon us, the Barnes County Boys Basketball Tournament is just around the corner.
Starting on December 10th, eight Class B teams will meet at W.E.Osmon Fieldhouse in Valley City and will play till a champion is crowned in the final game that Saturday.
Starting off the event on opening day, top seeded Milnor will take on #8 Barnes County North. The two seed, LaMoure-Litchville-Marion meets up with #7 Finley-Sharon/Hope-Page. The Enderlin Eagles will be ranked third and will host #6 Griggs County Central. Finally, the four and five match up will be between Maple Valley and Sargent Central.
The Talent pool for this year’s tournament is as strong as any, as Maple Valley returns with their eyes on a fifth straight Barnes County Championship. Milnor enters the tournament after winning the Class B state Championship last season, and LaMoure-Litchville-Marion came within a game of playing for the state title a year ago.
Play begins at 3pm on Tuesday, December 10th. The second round of the tournament will start at the same time that Thursday. The Final Leg of play will have an earlier start time as teams will tip off at 12:00pm on December 14th. Every game will be broadcast on Q101FM.
