CITY, N.D. (NewsDakota.com) Valley City police are investigating a garage break-in reported in the city on November 23 around 3:40am at 530 6th avenue northwest. Owner Scott Magnuson tells Dakota County Radio that he heard noises and went into his garage and saw blood on and inside a vehicle parked inside his garage shortly after the break-in.

In a news release Valley City police chief Fred Thompson says police officers tracked an individual to 546 6th street northwest by following footprints. He says due to physical evidence at the scene there was an apparent altercation between two or more people.

Thompson says 22-year-old Shol Gout was arrested for disorderly conduct and 20-year-old Ring Akol was cited for minor in possession and consumption of alcohol.

Thompson says additional charges are pending for the entry into the garage and the vehicle inside at 530 6th avenue northwest.
