N.D (NewsDakota.com)In a display of three point shooting the Minot State University Beavers topped the Valley City State Vikings men’s team by a score of 65-44 in a Sunday afternoon exhibition game.

While the match did not count for the Vikings, the win advances the Beavers to a perfect 4-0 on the season.

In the first half, the home team gained the advantage by shooting from the perimeter. Going 5-7 from the three point line, the Beavers were nearly flawless from behind the arc with a 71% success rate. Minot State also used strong play under the basket out rebounding the Vikings 47-33.

Samuel Johnson had a strong night for the home team pulling down eight boards and totaling a game high 14 points. Another strong performance for the beavers came from Chris East, the Toronto native fell just short of a double-double with 10 rebounds and eight points.

While the Beavers defense kept any Vikings player from double digits, Jeremy Ware was the closest to that mark with eight points on the night. Aaron Duske would finish the game with 7 points, and Ty Pratt would have on of his strongest performances on the court blocking away three shots and netting six points.

The Vikings move on to the Sam Milanovich Classic beginning on Friday, November 29th against Dickinson State. You can hear the game on 1490 KOVC starting at 7:45pm.
