N.D. (NewsDakota.com) The day before Thanksgiving is one of the busiest travel days of the year. So on Wednesday North Dakota Highway Patrol troopers will be on patrol statewide.

So far this year there have been 124 fatal crashes on North Dakota roadways. Here are a few tips the patrol would like to pass on to motorists. Buckle up, slow down during slippery conditions and lose the cruise when it icy or slippery, never drink alcoholic beverages and drive. If you see an impaired driver, call 911. Avoid talking on a cell phone, texting, or any activity that takes attention away from the road.

Colonel Jim Prochniak says, “Driving responsibly is the most important factor in arriving at your destination safely,” He added, “I urge motorists to remember that driving is a full-time responsibility.”
