CITY, N.D. (NewsDakota.com) An erosion study of the Sheyenne River banks in Valley City by the engineering firm of URS Corporation is complete. URS project engineer and hydrologist Abby Korte says two major flooding events along with Devils Lake water being released in the summer months have all combined to cause damage to the river bank.

City Commissioner Madaline Luke says the results will be available on the city of Valley City’s website in the near future.

Earlier this year the Valley City commission approved of spending $60,000 for the comprehensive study of the Sheyenne River banks.
