(NewsDakota.com)  Last night at the Minot State Dome, the Carrington Cardinals played their very first game ever in the State Class B High School Volleyball Tourney.  After an hour delay because of a power outage in Minot, the Cards met Region 7 Champs the Beulah Minors about 9pm.  Carrington swept Beulah in three sets (25-20, 25-22, 25-21).  The Cardinals get their 30th victory of the season and are 30-7 overall, the Minors drop to 26-13.

On the hitting side, three seniors for Carrington led the way.  Madison Wendel had a match high 16 kills, followed by Kayla Hochhalter with 13 and Jacey Engelhorn with 11.  Wendel had four stuff blocks, Engelhorn had two serving aces.

Next up for No. 4 Carrington will be tonight’s semi-final round against the number one seed of the tournament, Region 1 Champions Northern Cass (31-6).  Pregame can be heard on AM 1600 KDAK and newsdakota.com at 7:35pm, first serve at 8pm.
