(NewsDakota.com) The Jamestown Blue Jays made quick work of the Mandan Braves in the first round of the WDA volleyball tournament. The Jays improved their winning streak to 23 matches with a 3-0 (25-17, 25-9, 25-12) victory.

Jamestown got 11 kills from Jenna Stilwell to lead the team, including six in the second set. The Braves jumped out to a 5-3 lead the in the set before. Jamestown ran off a 15-0 streak. With Addie Eamon on the bench, the hitting went through Stilwell and she responded.

Bismarck High also won their opening round game with a four set win over Dickinson. That means the Demons will be the opponent for the Jays tomorrow.

The Jays lost two sets to Bismarck during the regular. Two of the total four they lost all year during conference play.

Game time is slated for 6pm Friday and will be broadcast on 98.3 FM & NewsDakota.com.
