CITY, N.D. (NewsDakota.com) A wet and cooler fall has created propane and fuel shortages in the upper Midwest and that has farmers and other struggling to keep their tanks full to complete their harvest work.

Dakota Plains Cooperative General Manager Ken Astrup says fuel suppliers have been scrambling to get fuel to their distributors and customers. He says the early October snow storm set the wheels in motion for a shortage.

Fuel supplies should return to manageable levels once the demand for harvest subsides later this year.
