N.D. (NewsDakota.com) – Jim Boyd of the Jamestown Airport Authority came before the city council to inform them of a new airline carrier that could help boost Jamestown Regional Airport Boarding’s.
“Skywest Airlines was interested in bidding to service Jamestown 2 years ago but missed the bidding deadline.” Boyd said.
Before Great Lakes Airlines began to service the airport, Jamestown was serviced by Delta Airlines. Delta had a 50 passenger jet and Jamestown experienced roughly 800 passengers per month. Now with Great Lakes, Jamestown has seen a drop in boarding’s, experiencing only 200-215 passengers a month.
Mayor Katie Anderson, who also serves on the Airport Authority Board, said they’ve looked into reasons why the boarding’s have dropped.
The deadline for bidding is November 26th and Mayor Anderson said she would like to see as many services bid as possible. If you want to contact Skywest, you can contact Mayor Anderson at mayorkatie@nd.gov and she will send you information on how to contact them.
