Hanson Crandall, 94, of Milnor, ND, died Novembers 3, 2013 at Parkside Nursing Home, Lisbon, ND.
Martha Katherine, daughter of William Sr. and Bertha (Itzen) Bertram was born November 1, 1919 at Herman, MN. She graduated from Herman High School and then attended Business College in Fargo, ND.
She married Marvin Hanson and together they had five children; Karen (Bob) Huether, Marcia (Orlando) Henry, Catherine (Rick) LaMee, Mark (Charlene) Hanson and Ann Marie (Ken) Kayl. Marvin died in 1976 at Britton, SD. Martha moved to a hobby farm on Highway 13, near Milnor, ND to raise minature horses with her daughter and son-in-law, the Henry’s.
Martha was a wonderful seamstress, making rugs and fleece hats. She was honored for the hats she made for cancer patients.
She is survived by her five children and their spouses; seven grandchildren; two step-grandchildren; ten great-grandchildren; and five step-great-grandchildren. She is also survived by a sister, Virene Bauman; a brother, Calvin Bertram; and a sister-in-law, Deloris Bertram. Martha was preceded in death by her parents, William Sr. and Bertha Bertram, a brother and sister-in-law, William Bertram Jr. and wife Audrey, two sisters, Mary Margaret and Margaret Ann, one grandson, Jerome Henry, Alten Crandall, and a brother-in-law, Leo Bauman.
Mom will be truly missed by her family and friends for her love of home, her horses, reading, sewing, and her church ladies at Milnor United Methodist where she was a long time member.
Visitation will be held on Wednesday, November 6, 2013 from 6:30 to 7:30 p.m. with a prayer service starting at 7:30 p.m. at Dahlstrom Funeral Home, Milnor. Her funeral will be Thursday, November 7, 2013 at 10:30 a.m. at the United Methodist Church, Milnor, ND, followed by a lunch at the church, and then burial at the Britton Cemetery, Britton, SD.
