CITY, N.D. Former Valley City State student 21-year-old Cedric Chappell Jr will be transported back to Minnesota to face murder charges following an extradition hearing today.

Chappell was charged with second degree murder in the shooting death of a man and attempted murder after he allegedly wounded another man in Minneapolis shooting.
Barnes County State’s Attorney Lee Grossman says Chappell will be transported to Minnesota from Barnes County jail within the next 14 days.

A criminal complaint says a fight started inside the bar, spilled out into the parking lot and two groups started shooting at each other.

Chappell is accused of fatally shooting 22-year-old Willie Smith of St. Paul outside a Minneapolis restaurant and bar.
