Poehls, 87, of LaMoure, ND, passed away October 26, 2013 at the Oakes Community Hospital.

Onis Lenore, daughter of Robert and Amanda (Anderson) Holen was born on April 7th, 1926 in Grand Rapids, ND, where she grew up and attended school. Onis married Charles Poehls on August 26, 1953 at Rogate Lutheran Church in Berlin, ND. After their marriage the couple lived in LaMoure, ND. She worked at the Dairy Bar as a cook and baker, and also babysat for many of the area children. Charles passed away on May 30, 1965.

Onis was a member of Zoar Lutheran Church, where she was active in WELCA, Bible study, quilting and Megatones. She enjoyed gardening, baking and playing cards with friends. She also loved all sports especially baseball, being on the go and traveling, and she loved animals.

She is survived by two daughters, Nancy (Jerzy) Figura of Berlin, ND and Dorene (James) Kutrubs of Ft. Mill, SC; two sons, Kevin (Lois) Poehls of Rapid City, SD and Gordon Poehls of Silverthorne, CO; eight grandchildren, Renee (Sam Meneely), Anthony and Annette Figura; Katherine and Matthew Kutrubs; Megan (Erik) Dahlquist, Charles Poehls; and Jacob Poehls; three sisters, Arylene Paulu, Anna (Charles) Arndt and Joan (Curtis) Holt; one brother, David (Carol) Holen; one sister-in-law, Dori Holen; and many nieces, nephews, grand-nieces and grand-nephews. Onis was preceded in death by her parents, husband Charles Poehls, and brothers Ralph and Don Holen.

Visitation will be held on Tuesday, October 29, 2013 from 4:30 to 6:30 p.m. with a prayer service starting at 6:30 p.m. at Zoar Lutheran Church, LaMoure. Her funeral will be Wednesday, October 30, 2013 at 11:00 a.m. also at Zoar Lutheran Church, with burial to follow at Rosehill Cemetery, LaMoure.
