N.D. (NewsDakota.com) – An 82-year-old McClusky, N.D., woman is dead after her unattended pickup pinned her against the refuse in a garbage pit.

The woman, whose name is not yet released, had brought garbage to dump into the pit on her own property at about 2 PM Sunday. The North Dakota Highway Patrol states that the pickup was parked on an incline. The woman was standing at the back of the truck near the garbage pit when the vehicle rolled backwards and pinned her between the truck and the refuse. She was pronounced dead at the scene.

The crash remains under investigation by the North Dakota Highway Patrol.
