Frances Haws, age 47, of Valley City died Monday Oct 21st at Sanford Palliative Care in Fargo, ND. Funeral Services will be conducted 11 AM Saturday Oct. 26th at Our Saviors Lutheran Church in Valley City. Visitation will be from 4 PM until 7 PM Friday with a Prayer Service beginning at 7 PM at Lerud-Schuldt Funeral Home. Interment will be in Memory Gardens Cemetery.

     Frances Marie Kunze Haws was born May 4, 1966 in Valley City, ND the daughter of Frank and Anna (Rasmusson) Kunze. She grew up at Valley City and attended school there. Following her graduation Frances began working in the bakery at Leevers Super Valu. On May 19, 1995 she was married to Richard Haws. The couple made their home in Valley City. Richard passed away Nov. 6, 1997. Frances then took a job at the Sheyenne Care Center in Valley City in the Dietary Department and worked there until health problems forced her to retire. Frances loved fishing with young people, especially her nieces and nephews. She loved to play bingo and loved the family gatherings. She helped raise a nephew, Andrew Kunze, and that was a very special part of her life.

     Frances is survived by a step-son, Rusty Stringer of Billings, MT and 2 step-granddaughters, Danelle and Maddolyn; 3 brothers, David Kunze, Bismarck, ND, Frank (Louise) Kunze, Lisbon, ND, and Robert (Hope) Kunze, Oriska, ND; a sister Ann Hejtmanek, Valley City, ND, and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Richard, a brother, Bill Kunze, and 3 sisters, Margaret Fossen, Barbara Anderson, and Theresa Nelson.
