September 2013 numbers from the state’s eight largest airports have risen 9% compared to September of last year. For the past four years, North Dakota has continued to post strong growth rates in airport boarding’s.
Leading the way is the Sloulin Field International Airport near Williston with a 247% increase in boarding’s, posting 5,623 more passengers than in September of 2012. Being in the oil patch, this isn’t much of a surprise. Jamestown Regional Airport reported 253 boarding’s for the month of September, making it a 48% increase compared to last year at this time. This year, there has been a total of 1,826 passengers flying through Jamestown.
As for totals for all the state’s eight largest airports, numbers have risen more than 10% from last year. For 2013, boarding’s have reached 843,000, up more than 79,000 boarding’s for 2012.
