CITY, N.D. (NewsDakota.com) A Valley City woman is facing a felony charge of refusal to submit to an impairment screening on Sunday in Valley City.

Police Chief Fred Thompson says 52-year-old Sheila Nelson lost control of her vehicle and went into a ditch in the 500 block of 12th avenue southeast around 2:40pm on Sunday.

Thompson says Nelson refused to take a field sobriety test by Valley City police officer.

Under the new state law refusal to submit to the sobriety test is now a felony charge.
