(NewsDakota.com) The Titans welcomed No. 1 Minot Bishop Ryan last Friday night for Homecoming in Class 2A High School football. Griggs Barnes County fell 44-7, GBC falls to 2-3 and 2-5 overall. Minot Bishop Ryan Lions remain undefeated at 5-0 and 7-0 overall.
The Lions would score four touchdowns in the first half and two in the second half, led by Senior running back Braden Kalamaha and Senior quarterback Austin Eggl with two rushing touchdowns each. Wide Receiver Brody Bosch would also get two touchdowns in the third quarter, a 30-yard touchdown reception and a five yard rushing touchdown.
The only score for the Titans came in the third quarter with about six minutes left, Senior running back Wyatt Steckler would rush for a two yard touchdown. So far this year Steckler has rushed 134 times for 932 yards, averaging almost seven yards per carry, including 10 touchdowns. Senior fullback Derek Eberle has rushed 39 times for 125 yards and three touchdowns. Sophomore quarterback Jayden Grover has completed 27 of 63 passes for 43% and 295 yards, with four touchdowns and four interceptions. Leading receiver is Junior Cole Diede with seven receptions for 112 yards and 1 touchdown. Senior Cody Horn has seven receptions for 92 yards and two touchdowns.
On defense, Beau Beattie has 99 tackles, William Gerntholz has 81 tackles.
PROGRAMMING CHANGE FOR THIS SATURDAYS GAME: GBC football will be broadcast on The Raven 103.1 FM starting at 6:30pm pregame and 7pm kickoff at the Bismarck Community Bowl against No. 2 St. Marys. There is a college game in the afternoon, St. Marys VS St. Cloud St. at 2pm.
