N.D. (NewsDakota.com) A Sanborn man faces a number of charges after he was arrested Thursday night at a residence in Sanborn following an incident at the Sandoon Saloon.

Owner Tony Wendel says the man threw an axe through the front window of the bar, it deflected off a sign and luckily it did not strike any patrons. Wendel says the man was kicked out of the bar earlier for what he described as bad behavior.

Barnes County Sheriff Randy McClaflin says 39-year-old Terry Lee Cornell II has lived in Sanborn for about 2 months. McClaflin says members of the area Swat team including the Barnes County Sheriff’s office, Valley City & Jamestown police departments and the Highway Patrol assisted in the arrest Thursday night in Sanborn.

Cornell faces charges of Reckless Endangerment a Class C Felony. Cornell is on probation out of Cass County and is a felon with prior charges of Aggravated Assault, Menacing and Disorderly Conduct.
