N.D. (NewsDakota.com) – Fire Chief Jim Ruether has released the call report for September 28th through October 10th.

According to Chief Ruether, The Jamestown Fire Department responded to 254 calls in 2012. Below is a full list of all calls the Department responded to. If you’re interested in volunteering for the Jamestown Fire Department, call 701-252-1441.

September 28th, 4:44PM, ready squad responded to 715 3rd Ave SE, James House, to investigate fire alarm activation. Firefighters checked for smoke/fire none was detected. Cause-power failure activated the fire alarm. Fire alarm was reset. Time out 30 minutes.

September 28th, 10:17PM, fire department responded to the area of 728 2nd St SW, Tree House, on fire. Firefighters extinguished the fire and investigated. Cause-undetermined. No firefighter injuries. Time out 55 minutes.

October 2nd, 6:01AM, fire department responded to 945 3rd Ave NW, Single Family Dwelling, to a report of an explosion and smoke. Firefighters investigated no fire. Cause-heating boiler misfired. No firefighter injuries. Time out 40 minutes.

October 3rd, 2:36PM, fire department responded to 1813 Hwy 281 North, to a report of smoke coming from behind a dwelling. Cause-burning insulation off of wire. Occupant was advised not to be burning within city limits. Time out 25 minutes.

October 3rd, 7:43PM, fire department heavy rescue responded to 5 miles north on highway 20 north, to a report of person/s needing extricated from vehicle. Rescue unit was cancelled enroute. Cause-vehicle rollover. Time out 10 minutes.

October 4th, 10:56PM, ready squad responded to 222 1st Ave South, Post House, to investigate fire alarm activation. Firefighters checked for smoke/fire none was detected. Cause-water shorting out the fire alarm system. Fire alarm was reset. Time out 40 minutes.

October 7th, 8:50AM, ready squad responded to 904 5th Ave NE, Sanford Health, to investigate fire alarm activation. Firefighters checked for smoke/fire none was found. Cause-faulty detector. Fire alarm was reset. Time out 15 minutes.

October 9th, 8:28PM, ready squad responded to 523 4th Ave SE, Trinity Lutheran Church, to investigate fire alarm activation. Firefighters checked for smoke/fire none was detected. Cause-burnt popcorn. Fire alarm was reset. Time out 20 minutes.
