CITY, N.D (NewsDakota.com) The Viking football team has made another jump in the in the NAIA Coaches poll this week.

VCSU finds themselves two steps up the ladder, at 16 in the latest national rankings. The Vikings are coming off a 31-17 win over Presentation College in which they trailed late in the third quarter.

Valley City has acquired a record of 4-1 on the season, with a 2-0 record in North Star Athletic Association play. The Vikings only loss this season came at the hands of Morningside College, who currently stands as the nation’s top team.

The Vikings are back to conference play this week when they hit the road for a match up with Mayville State. The Comets have a record of 3-3 on the year with a loss in their only conference game to the University of Jamestown.  The two sides will kickoff at 2pm on Saturday, October 12th , pregame beings at 1:30pm on Dakota Country Radio.
