Darlene Guttormson, age 70, of Valley City died Oct.3, 2013 at Mercy Hospital in Valley City.  A Memorial Mass will be celebrated at 1 PM Saturday Oct 12th at St. Catherine’s Catholic Church with Msgr. Dennis Skonseng, celebrant.  Burial will be in the ND Veterans Cemetery at Mandan, ND at a later date.

     Darlene was born April 5, 1943 at St. Cloud, MN the daughter of Wallace and Hildegard (Schlicht) David.  She married Oscar Guttormson on June 6, 1968 in Texas.  The couple moved to Valley City from Lisbon, ND in 1973.  Oscar died in 2006 and she continued to make her home in Valley City.  Her hobbies included caring for animals, reading, and horseback riding.

     Darlene is survived by 2 daughters, Debra Long, Mandan, ND and Diane Guttormson, Valley City, ND and 2 grandchildren, Brandon and Dustin.
