CITY, N.D (NewsDakota.com) The Vikings Cross Country team is running strong into the end of the season.
This week has been full of accolades and achievements for the men’s cross country team at VCSU. On Tuesday, the North Star Athletic Association announced that Richard Langdeaux was the runner of the week in the conference. With a time just over 27 minutes, the California native earned the honor by placing higher than any other member of the conference in the Roy Griak Invitational.
More good news came to the Vikings after the national and conference rankings were released by the NAIA. In the combined league of the NSAA and the MCAC , Valley City has earned the top ranking. It is the first time since 2010, when VCSU reinstated the cross country team at the school, that the Vikings have held the first place spot in the conference.
The team has just two more races before heading to Lawrence, Kansas where they will run in the eight team co-op conference meet on the ninth of November. The top team at that event will earn a spot in Nationals.
