N.D. (NewsDakota.com) – The Federal Government is currently in its third day of shutdown and the effects of it are showing in North Dakota.
Craig Bihrle with the North Dakota Game, Fish and Parks Department says that Waterfowl Production Areas are closed off to the public due to the Government shutdown. So, hunters will not be able to hunt on the land.
“North Dakota has approximately 220,000 acres of Waterfowl Production land. It is normally used for recreation and hunting.” Craig said.
According to Craig, North Dakota has the most Waterfowl Production acres, topping Montana, South Dakota, Minnesota and Iowa. Even though Waterfowl Production areas are closed off to hunters and the general public, hunting will still be allowed in other parts of North Dakota.
The State Game, Fish & Parks Department remains open during the shutdown.
