Robert Martin Wolf was born May 18, 1927 at Fingal, ND the son of John and Rosie (Huber) Wolf. He grew up on the family farm east of the Old Holy Trinity Cemetery. He attended a country school and worked for nearby neighbors.
In 1948 he moved with his parents and siblings to Valley City. He worked for a nursery and later did seasonal work for the Barnes County Highway Department. He also helped his brother Frank haul bales for many years until a back injury put an end to that enterprise.
After retirement, he would snowblow driveways during the winter. On June 15, 2012 Robert entered the Sheyenne Care Center, moving to the Cottage on Jan. 4, 2013.
Robert’s family wants to thank all the caregivers at the Care Center and especially the Cottage for meeting his needs. He was a quiet, gentle man, but could be stubborn at times. Thank you for your patience and understanding. I know he appreciated the loving care he received.
Robert is survived by a brother, Herman, Fargo, ND, and a sister, Katherine Olson, Valley City, ND; two nieces, Ann Marie (Ed) Thom, Valley City, ND and Chris (Ron) Koslofsky, Fingal, ND. He was preceded in death by his parents, a sister, Margaret, and three brothers, John Jr., Alfred, and Frank.
