N.D. (NewsDakota.com) – Members of North Dakota’s American Legion Posts of the Fourth District and their Auxiliary will be gathering in Gackle at the Legion Hall, for their Fall District Meeting Friday evening, October 11, starting at 7:00 p.m.
Department Commander Eugene Kachena of Pisek will be the principle speaker, while District Commander Albert Gray of Jamestown, will preside over the session.
The District Oratorical Contest Chairman will report on the upcoming High School Oratorical Contest and the District Boys State Chairman will give an update on the success of the American Legion North Dakota Boys State held this past June at the North Dakota State College of Science in Wahpeton.
Those present will receive valuable information on membership campaigns on the Department and National level aimed at keeping The American Legion the largest veterans’ organization. Representatives of the District Posts are asked to make a 2014 membership turn-in during the Post roll call.
Auxiliary Department President Marlys Aubol will also speak to assembled Legionnaires representing their Auxiliary counterparts who are also meeting that same evening at the Senior Center.
