(NewsDakota.com) Running back Seth Abaurrea for Carrington would score five touchdowns and help the Cards beat Northern Cass 43-16 last Friday night in Class 1A Region 1 play. Carrington improves to 5-0 overall and 4-0 in Region 1, Northern Cass drops to 1-4 in overall and 1-3 in Region 1.
The only score the entire first half came in the second quarter when Carrington drove 60 yards on eight plays, Abaurrea would complete the drive with a 10 yard touchdown run, making it 7-0 at the half.
The Cards would score 37 points in the second half, led by Abaurrea with four touchdowns. His longest run was in the fourth quarter from 35 yards out. Taylor Kyllo would help score the two touchdowns for Northern Cass. In the third quarter, he would connect with John Backer for a 26-yard touchdown pass and he would also rush from 22 yards out for a touchdown in the fourth.
Abaurrea rushed 23 times for 175 yards, Cole Ferguson also had a 47-yard touchdown run for Carrington.
