CITY, N.D. (NewsDakota.com) More than 200 Valley City State University freshmen picked over 40,000 pounds of Buttercup squash  from a farm northwest of Valley City on September 26.

It was the 4th year the VCSU students went to the Dan Faust’s farm to help him with his mission to provide food for the Great Plains Food Bank in Fargo.

The event was part of a VCSU “Learning to Live” program that focuses on different community services project in the area.
