CITY, N.D. (NewsDakota.com) The Valley City State women’s volleyball team earned a victory over undefeated Bismarck State College in their home opener on Labor day.

The Vikings were led on offense by Middle Hitter Aurissa Martens who finished the night with 10 Kills. Alley Theroux also had a strong night on offense scoring eight kills of her own. Those points may not have been possible, however, if  not for the sturdy play of Stephanie Miller who led the Vikings with 20 assists and 14 Digs.

Though it may have taken four games to complete the victory (25-19, 25-17, 20-25, 25-16), the Vikings were able to hand the Mystics their first loss of the season.  The Vikings now hold a record of 4-7 while dropping Bismark State College to 9-1 overall record.
