Ron Cruff, age 72 of Valley City died Saturday Aug 31, 2013 at his residence in Valley City. Memorial Services with Military Rites are scheduled for 11 AM Wednesday Sept. 4, 2013 at the Lerud-Schuldt Funeral Home in Valley City with Msgr Dennis Skonseng officiating.

     Ronald Bruce Cruff was born July 18, 1941 in Valley City, ND the son of Bernard and Amanda (Shegstad) Cruff. He lived for a time in Valley City and then the family moved to Milwaukee, WI. He enlisted in the US NAVY Sept 3, 1958 and served until May 2, 1977. During that time he worked as a repairman for Cryptological equipment and was posted to several different areas. He married Manuela Ruiz and they raised 5 children. Following his discharge the family returned to Valley City where Ron attended VCSU and was employed at Arkota and later at Pamida. Following his “2nd” retirement Ron enjoyed being Mr. Fix-It around the house and for his family.

     Survivors include his wife Manuela, sons Jesus (Yvonne) Cruff, Dallas, TX and Ronald B. Cruff Jr, Jamestown, ND; daughters Mary (John) Stearns, Valley City, ND and Judy (Tom) Huisenga, Ypsilanti, ND; a brother Robert (Roberta) Cruff, Germantown, WI; sisters Cheryl (Ken) Frasheski, Brighton Beach, MI and Judy Corn, Germantown, WI; 13 grandchildren and 10 great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, Ben and Amanda Cruff, a son Bobby, and brothers Richard and Douglas.
