Thorson, 69, of Milnor, ND, passed away August 27, 2013, in his home, under the care of Hospice of the Red River Valley.

Harley John was one of the triplets born to Walter and Mary (Sebens) Thorson on September 23, 1943 at Breckenridge, MN. He grew up in the Milnor area, and attended Sydna country school for eight years. He worked for Edison motors in Milnor for a few years. He was a member of the National Guard for six years, and worked at Joe Fords Shop in Valley City, ND for two years. Harley began employment with the Melroe Company in Gwinner, where he worked for 32 years before retiring. He was also engaged in farming.

Harley was a very generous person, always giving or doing for someone. He loved tractors. He said that they fascinated him.

He is survived by his sister and brother, Kay (Bob Jordheim) Wray of Lisbon and Harold (Eunice) Thorson of Milnor; his companion, Kathy Stelton of Kindred; and his nieces and nephews, Lance, Jeannie, Cheryl, and Mark. Harley was preceded in death by his parents.

Visitation will be held on Friday, August 30, 2013 from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. with a prayer service starting at 7:00 p.m. at Dahlstrom Funeral Home, Milnor. His funeral will be Saturday at 2:00 p.m. at the Milnor Lutheran Church, Milnor, with burial to follow at Lakeside Cemetery, Milnor.
