N.D. (NewsDakota.com) – For the first time in East River Rodeo Circuit History, they will name a father/son duo the champions of the first year of team roping.

Father Brian Bertsch and son Justin Bertsch of Jamestown, North Dakota will be named the team roping champions at the finals in Lenard, North Dakota.

Sandy Tiede from East River Rodeo Circuit stated that this will be a first in their history.

According to Sandy, they haven’t won just yet. But, looking at the scores in the circuit, it looks pretty final already.

“Right now in points, the Bertsch’s are at 240 points. The next closest team behind them is at 70 points and the most you can receive in a rodeo competition is 80 points. Nobody will be able to catch them.” Sandy said.

Brian and Justin have been placing in competitions all over North Dakota over the past summer. Their more recent win coming out of Abercrombie, North Dakota on August 10th.
