N.D. (NewsDakota.com) Authorities are asking for the public’s help in searching for the driver of a company truck from Hickson North Dakota who fled the scene of a crash by running into a corn field in Northern Dickey County late Wednesday morning.

The North Dakota Highway Patrol says the truck driven by 37 year old Gabriel Ekstrom of Fargo collided with another truck at the intersection of North Dakota Highway 1 and Dickey County Road 1 around 11:30 a.m. Wednesday.

Sergent Troy Hischer with the Patrol says the driver of the other truck, 26 year old Kyle Severance of Dickey, and two passengers in Ekstrom’s truck, 33 year old Nathaniel Nash of Fargo and 24 year old Jose Montero of West Fargo were injured and taken to the Oakes Community Hospital.

Authorities brought in K-9 units to search for Ekstrom, before calling off the initial search a few hours after the crash. He was reported to be seen later in the afternoon crossing into another corn field, but was not apprehended. Hischer says the man is a non-violent offender.

Anyone with information regarding the man is asked to call local law enforcement.
