Wilfred Bierley, 93, of Jamestown, ND, died Monday, August 5, 2013 at Ave Maria Village, Jamestown.

     Wilfred Bierley was born on a farm in Sharlow Township in Stutsman County, ND on March 19, 1920, the son of Milton and Tena (Barnick) Bierley. The family moved to LaMoure County in September, 1925. He received his education in Mikkelson Township schools. In 1936 he entered the Civil Conservation Corps., serving in Utah National Forest CCC Camp. They moved to a farm near Nortonville in 1938 where he farmed with his father until entering the US Army in June, 1942. Winfred served in the European Theater of Operation and was discharged on December 14, 1945 at Camp McCoy, WI.

     Wilfred and Zena Kedalo were married in Jamestown on November 4, 1943. After his discharge, they made their home on a farm near Adrian, ND. Wilfred was a member of the First United Methodist Church, Jamestown. He served on the elevator and township boards, cemetery board, and was a life member of the VFW Post 760, Jamestown.

     Wilfred is survived by his wife, Zena, Jamestown; sons, Gary (Lynette), Quincy, CA, Rex, Daly City, CA, and Calvin (Sandra), Renton, WA.

     He was preceded in death by his parents and three brothers, Clarence, Alfred, and Wesley.

     Funeral Service: 2:00 p.m., Friday, August 9, 2013 at First United Methodist Church in Jamestown, ND, with Pastor Elmo Herman officiating.

     Visitation: 1:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m., Thursday, August 8, 2013 at Williams-Lisko Funeral Chapel, Jamestown.

     Interment: Nortonville Cemetery, Nortonville, ND.
