Fracker has been hired as the new softball coach at Valley City State University.

Athletic Director Jack Denhom made the hire official today, Wednesday, July 31st. Previously Fracker was the assistant coach of the Vikings, mainly working as the hitting coach, but splitting her time defensively coaching the outfielders and the team’s catchers. She spent two years under Chad Slyter, who left the position vacant earlier this month.

Fracker played her college ball at Indiana State, where she caught for the Sycamores from 2003-2008. After graduation, she worked assistant coaching jobs at Drexel University and Oberlin College.

Denholm made it clear he thought Fracker was right for the job saying, “Elle has been a great asset to Viking softball the past two seasons, and we’re excited to give her the opportunity to be a head coach. With several years of experience as both an assistant coach and former player, she’s ready to make the transition to head coach.”

The new coach leads the Vikings into the new North Star Athletic Association Conference this spring. Last year the Viking finished the season with a 10-26 record.
