(NewsDakota.com)- As quick as Mandan grabbed the lead, it was gone and Jamestown was in the driver seat. Mandan scored the games first four runs, but Jamestown scored the next nine and never looked back en route to their 15-5 victory.

Riley Schafer yielded just six hits on the mound to get the win, but had some early trouble as Mandan struck for four runs in the opening inning. Alex Weiand compounded the early struggles when he bombed a two-run shot over the right field fence, one pitch after Schafer thought he had struck out the Mandan third baseman.

Jamestown’s bats quickly rose to the occasion as they struck for four of their own runs in the first inning to send the game to the second inning tied at four. Mandan starter Jared Walters lasted just three inning while yielding nine runs.

In the third, Post 14 was aided by two errors from second baseman Bryce Anderesen to help keep the inning alive before Schafer drove home an early stake with a two-out three-run double.

Schafer was 4-4 at the plate with a pair of dobules and three RBIs.

Jamestown added single runs in the fourth and fifth before finishing the game in the bottom of the seventh. A fifth Mandan error kept the inning alive and Tyler Ukestad picked up two more RBIs with a blast past Weiand at third to end the game.

Ukestad drove in four runs while using a wood bat in the game. Brady Anderson and Jake Stilwell each had multi hit games with three and two respectively. Jamestown improved to 23-18 on the season.

Post 14 will play Bismarck today at 4:30pm. The No. 2-seed Governors are 4-0 against Jamestown this season.
