Valley City State University men’s basketball team has added one more recruit for the 2013-14 team.

Russel Robinson will join the men’s basketball team for the start of the season in the fall. The 5-foot-6 Forward is a transfer from Richard J. Daley College, in Illinois.

When asked about his newest recruit, Head Coach Jeff Kaminsky said,”Russel will be a great addition to our program. He is a versatile forward who has good experience playing at the college level. We look forward to the impact he can have on our program both on and off the court.”

The Chicago native averaged 11 points, seven rebounds and one block per game during his sophomore year at Richard J. Daley College in 2009-10. He did not play basketball the past three seasons.

Robinson wraps up a large recruiting class for VCSU that includes 11 new faces. The Vikings have five returning players from last year’s national tournament team: Aaron Duske, AJ McDonald, Anthony Saavedra, Ty Pratt and Thomas Cherry. Cherry redshirted last season.
