N.D. (AP) – Gov. Jack Dalrymple has appointed Norman Anderson to a newly created judgeship in the East Central Judicial District, which serves Cass, Steele and Traill counties. Dalrymple says Anderson served as an assistant U.S. Attorney in North Dakota for 25 years and tried more than 100 cases before retiring in 2007.
Earlier this month, Dalrymple appointed Robin Schmidt and Paul Jacobson to fill two newly created district court judge positions in North Dakota’s Northwest Judicial District.
The Legislature approved the new judgeship earlier this year to help keep up with a growing caseload spurred by North Dakota’s booming oil patch and growing population.
