“Jack” Cardwell was born to Mary Elizabeth and Robert Cardwell on May 8, 1949. He went to eternal rest on July 20, 2013 at the age of 64.

He was raised in Grand Forks, Noth Dakota, where he attended school. He joined the U.S. Army in 1967 and served for 5 years. He loved the outdoors and enjoyed fishing and spending time at Lake LaMoure. He liked many sports and was a UND Fighting Sioux and Minnesota Vikings fan. He married Marianne Weigel on October 4, 1975. They lived in Fargo and Hillsboro, North Dakota before moving to LaMoure in 1981.

He is survived by his wife, Marianne; son, Dean (Maggi) Cardwell of Rochester, MN; daughter, Melissa (Kyle) Christianson of Fargo, ND; two half sisters, Kim Gibree and Karla Stegman; one half brother, Ronald Walsh; four grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his mom and dad and sister, Deb Dykes.

Visitation will be held on Wednesday, July 24, 2013 from 10:00 to 11:00 a.m. followed by his funeral at 11:00 a.m. at Holy Rosary Catholic Church, LaMoure, ND. Burial will be at St. John’s Catholic Cemetery, Berlin, ND. An on-line guestbook may be signed at www.dahlstromfuneralhome.com.
