(NewsDakota.com)- Jamestown College had six teams named NAIA Scholar Teams by the NAIA for performance as students. There were 898 teams nationally across all NAIA sanctioned sports that received the honor.

The women’s golf team had the highest GPA of any team on campus with a 3.50. Other teams that made the cut; volleyball, men’s golf, women’s cross country and women’s indoor and outdoor track and field.

Teams must finish with a GPA of 3.0 or higher to be considered for the award. The team GPA consists of all eligible varsity student-athletes.

The Lee University women’s golf team came in No. 1 with a total of 3.93. The Valley City State golf team was second nationally with a 3.90. Fifteen percent of the teams, for the fourth straight year, finished with a GPA higher than 3.50.
