CITY, N.D. (NewsDakota.com) A plan to move the City County Health District offices out of the Barnes County courthouse and into the First Community Credit Union building, once it’s vacated, is being studied by commissioners.
City County Health Director Theresa Will says employees and clients would be better served using the 5000-square foot first floor once FCCU moves out of the building.
County Commissioner Cynthia Schwehr told the board why she favors the plan to move the office out.
Commission President Eldred Knutson also likes the plan.
First Community Credit Union CEO Steve Schmitz says construction of the new facility being built next to Essentia Clinic should be completed in January. Schmitz told commissioners the building could be purchase for $510,000.
The board directed City County Health Director Theresa Will to get a remodeling cost estimate and to have a certified inspector check the structure.
