CITY, N.D. (NewsDakota.com) Valley City State University is hosting its 16th annual Line of Scrimmage football camp July 10-11. The camp is designed specifically for high school linemen and focuses on offensive and defensive line fundamentals, techniques and strategies.

“Football games are won and lost on the line of scrimmage, and for 15 years this camp has concentrated solely on the work of the men in the trenches,” VCSU head coach Dennis McCulloch said. “I have no doubt that the young men who attend this camp will leave as better offensive and defensive linemen. Our staff is proud of the coaches we bring to camp and proud to host the region’s premier lineman camp.”

The two-day camp will be held on the turf of Shelly Ellig Field at Lokken Stadium in Valley City. Every year VCSU works to provide a low athlete-to-coach ratio which allows for attentive individual instruction of camp participants.

Early registration is recommended as camp enrollment is limited. Register by July 1 for best price. Players entering grades 9-12 are allowed to attend. More information and camp registration forms can by obtained by contacting camp director Gregg Horner at 845-7423 or gregg.horner@vcsu.edu. Registration can also be completed online at http://vikings.vcsu.edu/football/camp.
