CITY, N.D. (NewsDakota.com) Ingstad Family Media welcomes Matt Douglass as the new Sports Director and voice of the Valley City State Vikings.

Douglass said, “my father was a Colonel in the Army so most of my younger childhood was spent abroad. At the age of 10, My father retired and we left Rangon Burma for the tiny town of Howe, Indiana where my mother and father still reside.”

He said, “while attending Lakeland High School, I played football and participated in Track and field. After graduation, I went to Kent State University in Ohio. That’s where I first got into radio, working at the student run station and Interning at WCRS in Akron, Ohio.”

He added, “after my graduation from Kent State University I moved to Columbus, Ohio and attended the Ohio Center for Broadcasting for a year. While at OCB I took on an internships with the Columbus Blue Jackets, the Cleveland Indians triple A affiliate Columbus Clippers, and did play-by-play for Columbus State Community College men’s basketball team and local high schools with WFCO.

After completing the course work at the school, I was hired by WTVN where I worked as a producer and on-air talent. For the last two years I have also been the voice of the American Ultimate Disc League’s Detroit Mechanix.
