(NewsDakota.com)- For the second straight year the Bison football team swept the North Dakota AP Male College awards with Marcus Williams named the athlete of the year, Craig Bohl the coach of the year and the two-time national champion Bison, the team of the year.

The Jamestown baseball team finished as a finalist for team of the year. The Jimmies won 22 of their last 25 games including a win over the No. 2 Oklahoma City University Stars in the NAIA National Tournament.

On the women’s side; five-time national champion Melissa Agnew from U of Mary was named the athlete of the year. Jason Spain, who lead the Minot State women’s soccer program to the NSIC crown, was the coach of the year. He edged out Jamestown College’s Greg Ulland, who took the Jimmies to their second consecutive NAIA tournament berth and a return trip to the Round of 16.

Williston State women’s basketball and Minot State softball were named team of the year in a voting tie. The Jimmie women’s basketball team was a finalist.

The NDAPSSA high school awards are due out tomorrow morning.
